![]() I would recommend the Loom & Leaf if you’re looking for: There is no significant performance difference with the thicker Saatva mattress, it is purely an aesthetic choice. This may be especially relevant for older individuals or those with limited mobility. The main reason why you may opt for the 14.5″ mattress could be if you prefer a taller mattress and don’t want to have to bend down to get in and out of bed. There is no additional comfort foam in the thicker mattress. If you opt for Saatva’s 14.5″ version, it will have an extra 3″ of support coils. The Saatva has a 4″ comfort layer and 7″ of support foam, in addition to a 3″ Euro-style pillowtop. The Loom & Leaf is 12″ thick with 4.5″ of comfort foam and 7.5″ of support foam. The Saatva’s pocketed coil design together with the euro-style pillow topper work together to great impact to reduce motion transfer. They allow high bounce, but because the coils are pocketed independently (and not linked together like traditional innerspring), they don’t transfer that energy to all of the other coils. Bounce: Isn’t it the same?Ĭonsidering Saatva’s higher levels of bounce, you may think motion transfer would also be high, but that’s kind of the unusual thing about pocketed coils. These lower levels of motion transfer on these mattresses mean that two partners in the same bed may be less likely to feel movements from their partners. Although each individual coil is springy, they work independently from one another so energy applied to one coil will not necessarily translate across the surface of the entire mattress. Pocketed coils are also good at limiting motion transfer.Memory foam is generally good at limiting motion transfer due to the way the material absorbs energy.Motion Transfer Tests Compared Motion TransferĪs you can see above, the levels of motion transfer between Loom & Leaf and Saatva mattress are nearly identical, despite the differences in material. Performance Tests | Firmness | Support & Sleeping Positions | Design | Materials | Summary Performance TestsĪt NapLab, we test each mattress by analyzing it versus 9 different factors that impact feel, comfort, and performance. Both mattresses are made by the same parent company (Saatva), so company policies are identical between the two. The Saatva, on the other hand, uses foam-encased coils to offer more bounce, faster response time, and excellent cooling. The Loom & Leaf is a luxury memory foam, meaning it’s going to provide that more sinkage and contouring, for excellent pressure relief ![]() ![]() Comparing the Loom & Leaf and Saatva, you’re looking at two pretty equal mattresses in terms of quality with different feels. ![]()
